this day

Each of us is inevitable,
Each of us limitless.

Each of us with his or her right upon the earth,
Each of us allow'd the eternal purports of the earth,
Each of us here as divinely as any is here.

~~~
The sun and stars that float in the open air,
the appleshaped earth and we upon it,
surely the drift of them is something grand;
I do not know what it is except that it is
grand, and that it is happiness.
~~~

To me, every hour of the light and dark is a miracle,
Every cubic inch of space is a miracle,
Every square yard of the surface of the
earth is spread with the same,
Every foot of the interior swarms with the same;
Every spear of grass - the frames, limbs,
organs, of men and women, and all that concerns them,
All these to me are unspeakably perfect miracles.

this everything dance

I like to live in the sound of water
in the feel of mountain air. A sharp
reminder hits me:  this world is still alive,
it stretches out there shivering toward its own
creation, and I'm part of it. Even my breathing

enters into this elaborate give-and-take,
this bowing to sun and moon, day or night,
winter, summer, storm, still - this tranquil
chaos that seems to be going somewhere.
This wilderness with a great peacefulness in it.
This motionless turmoil, this everything dance.

an ordinary life

Unchain yourself from achievement
and enjoy an ordinary life.
Flow like the Tao, unhindered,
unnoticed, unnamed,
with no goals, no expectations,
Be like a child, like a fool.
Know that there is nothing to know.
This is the direct way to freedom.

Commentary

... The day unfolds its little surprises, you flow from concentration to relaxedness to concentration, from morning to evening, the only possible break in the current of delight is an untrue thought.  Everyday mind is the Tao.
